Prevention is Better than a Cure

The biomedical model of disease only intervenes mostly when there is a crisis.

This is reactive than being proactive.

We have seen this with the diagnosis with M.S or leaukemia.

There is usually a wait and see approach while academic argue amongst themselves to find a cure to treat symptoms. Some cases if they cannot treat they will take a watchful neglect approach.

Majority of time clients tend to see us when there is a fork in the road and they are challegned with decision to go down the medical road or not at all.

We have always stated that it is important that the biomedical model of disease runs in tadem with health model thinking.

Most CLL, MND, MS or palitive cancer clients come to us when it is too late.

There has been cases when we suspected there was a hidden problem and timing allowed us to intervene before it could be diagnosed.

Some clients can be proactive, others what to let loose and party to wait until it becomes a disease to act.

It is always important to act no matter whether you have a label or not.
